A Los Angeles jury on Tuesday asked Indian-American Yoga guru Bikram Choudhury to pay $924,500 (Rs 6.27 crore) as compensation to his former lawyer Minakshi Jafa-Bodden for sexually harassing her and firing her after she investigated other claims of abuse made against him, PTI reported.
The 69-year-old Choudhury strongly denied allegations of sexual assault against him and described the accusations of mistreatment and abuse of employees as lies. "I don't do that," he testified in court. "I don't have to." Choudhury said Jafa-Bodden was let go in 2013 because she did not have a license to practice law in the United States.
In her law suit, Jafa-Bodden said she left India to work for Choudhury, but the yoga guru constantly used obscene language against her and sexually harassed her repeatedly.
