Indian shuttler PV Sindhu won a fifth Grand Prix Gold event on Sunday, defeating Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland 21-15 21-9 in the final of the Malaysia Masters.
Seeded third in the tournament, Sindhu finished her campaign in fine style, rarely looking perturbed by Gilmour on her way to a crushing victory. The World No 12 won the first set 21-15, before speeding to victory in the second set. The Hyderabadi has been in top form through the tournament, defeating top seed Sung Ji-hyun in the semi-finals.
This is Sindhu's second Malaysia Masters triumph with her first title coming in 2013. In between, she won three successive titles at the Macau Open.
