Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Gilles Muller lost in the second round of the Australian Open after a straight sets victory against twin brothers Bob and Mike Bryan. Bhupathi, who was making his comeback to Grand Slams after pulling out of the Wimbledon, had won his first round match but came up short against the third seeded Bryan brothers. They lost the first set 6-3 and were comprehensively swept past in the second set 6-2.
After the elimination of Leander Paes in the first round and now Mahesh Bhupathi, Indian hopes will rest on Rohan Bopanna, who has a men's doubles second match coming up, and the Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis pair in the women's doubles category.
