The Bihar government on Friday announced the appointment of strategist Prashant Kishor as advisor to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, reported India Today. Kishor is believed to have crafted the Grand Alliance’s resounding victory in Bihar elections in 2015. He served as a buffer between alliance leaders and former political foes Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) and Lalu Prasad Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
The former public health communication expert was also behind the strategy to project Narendra Modi as the face of good governance in the 2012 Gujarat polls and the 2014 general elections. Kishor heads Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC), made up of a young team of technocrats.
