The Kolkata Police on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Trinamool Congress leader Mohammad Sohrab in connection with the Audi hit-and-run case, reported PTI. Sohrab is the father of prime accused Sambia Sohrab, who allegedly mowed down Indian Air Force Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud during a Republic Day parade rehearsal on January 13.
The police had earlier arrested Sambia Sohrab, who was sent to police custody for 14 days after being booked for murder. Following the incident, the TMC distanced itself from Mohammed Sohrab, and said that the leader was "a minor political activist elected to the state assembly with the support of the Left Front in 2006".
