The Delhi government is reportedly looking to recruit 10 young and well-built men to guard Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Two days after a woman threw ink on Kejriwal at an event, the state government said it plans to train young volunteers from the civil defence wing, which is under its control, to be a part of the chief minister’s entourage, reported Hindustan Times.
“We don’t trust [the] Delhi Police. They are good for nothing. We have Aam Aadmi Party volunteers who protect the CM as he doesn’t want [the] Delhi Police around him,” a party official said on Tuesday. The party had earlier called the ink attack part of a bigger conspiracy to physically harm Kejriwal.
Currently, AAP volunteers provide security to Kejriwal. His vehicle is also driven by a party worker, according to the report.
