The Yale School of Management on Tuesday said that PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi has become its biggest alumni donor yet, after she gifted an undisclosed amount towards the deanship of the institution. The 60-year-old Indian-born Nooyi inaugurated the Fifth Decade Innovation Fund, officials from the school said. According to the school, she is its most generous graduate in terms of lifetime giving, and the first woman to endow the deanship at a top business school, PTI reported. Edward Snyder was named the inaugural Indra K Nooyi Dean.
Nooyi, who graduated from the school in 1980, said her donation “pales in comparison with the gift that Yale gave me – the fundamental understanding that leadership requires an expansive worldview and a deep appreciation of the many points of intersection between business and society." Nooyi has also contributed to the school substantially in the past, with a classroom being named after her and the construction of Edward P Evans Hall credited in part to her donations.
