A bench comprising Chief Justice G Rohini and Jayanth Nath on Monday ruled that the Delhi High Court would not interfere with the implementation of the odd-even rule in the capital. The rule has been in place since January 1, allowing vehicles with odd and even-numbered license plates to ply only on alternate days. The next hearing date on the matter is February 15, reported ANI.

Last week, the court had reserved its order on various pleas challenging the odd-even rule, which will be implemented till January 15. The AAP government last week defended its scheme and said that air pollution levels due to vehicular traffic have dropped. The Delhi High Court had earlier said that public transportation was lacking and that people were affected by the new scheme, and also asked if 15 days was necessary for the rule to be tested.

The AAP government has said it will later decide whether to implement the scheme again after January 15.
