Actor Priyanka Chopra on Wednesday won the People’s Choice Award for her role in the American television thriller series Quantico. The 33-year-old won the award for Favourite Actress in a New TV Series, after being nominated alongside Emma Roberts, Marcia Gay Harden, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lea Michele.
Chopra is the first Bollywood actress to play the lead in an American television series. Her role as the lead actor in the series, which first aired in September 2015, has rocketed her to fame in the United States.
In Quantico, Chopra plays an FBI agent suspected of executing a terrorist attack. The series has received fairly positive reviews from critics, with an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
