The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to look into the possibility of providing passengers with the premium service of an assured seat in the trains. This luxury, however, will come at a price five times the normal fare, Zee News reported.
The apex court also directed the Centre to establish as many as 104 new CNG pumps in 10 districts of the national capital region, setting a deadline of March 31. It also banned heavy commercial vehicles from entering Delhi from four additional entry points – NH2, NH10, NH58 and state highway 57 – but permitted their entry on payment of a pollution cess. The tax has been doubled from Rs 700 to Rs 1,400 for light commercial vehicles and from Rs 1,300 to Rs 2,600 for heavy commercial vehicles.
