Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday lashed out at the Centre in a series of tweets, saying that the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services and the Indian Administrative Service associations in the capital have become "full-fledged B-teams" of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The attack came after several members of DANICS decided to go on mass leave to protest against the suspension of two senior officials of the body by the Delhi government on Monday.
Kejriwal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is shooting off the shoulders of the IAS officers and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, who he claimed was present at the DANICS officers' meeting on Wednesday. He also said that the state would run more efficiently without the protesting bureaucrats, and that “governance will become honest”. He added that government employees should be replaced with professionals from different sectors.
Earlier in the day, the Centre declared the Aam Aadmi Party’s suspension of the two officials “null and void”.
