A day after a Tamil Nadu organisation issued a fatwa against yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali products containing cow urine, the company hit back saying it had never concealed information about any of its products.
Ramdev aide Acharya Balkrishna said, "We make more than 800 products out of which only five contain cow urine and it's mentioned [on the packaging]. Whichever organisation has issued this fatwa, I'd say it's [because of] their lack of knowledge."
The Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat had said on Tuesday that the use of products with cow urine was considered haram, or forbidden, in Islam. The fatwa was issued to ensure that such products were not consumed by Muslims due to a lack of awareness about the ingredients of the products they consume in daily life, the organisation added.
