At least 32 people were killed and 90 others wounded on Monday in two bomb explosions in the Syrian city of Homs. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the blasts – one a car bomb and another a suicide attack – occurred in the Zahra district in the middle of the city, Reuters reported. However, state news agency SANA provided a different account, saying two car bomb blasts left six dead and 37 wounded. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
This is the second major attack in Homs since a ceasefire agreement came into effect earlier this month, allowing the government to take control of the last rebel-controlled area of the city. On December 12, twin blasts in Zahra had killed at least 16 people. The attack was claimed by the Islamic State.
