Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that his government will be coming out with an action plan for start-ups in the country on January 16. Addressing the nation in his monthly Mann Ki Baat programme, Modi said that universities and youth will be connected with this initiative.
The prime minister said that youth in every corner of the country have talent, and only need opportunities. "In every sphere, we need to have new ideas and focus on innovation," he said.
Modi also announced that the National Youth Festival will be held in Chhattisgarh in 2016 on January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He added that the festival will be a "mini-India" with youth from across the country participating in it.
Modi also called for tourist spots in India to be cleaned, and said there is a need to change the perception of disability in the country. He made no mention of his surprise visit to Pakistan on Saturday, where he held talks with his counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
