Police caught three final-year college students on their way from Hyderabad to join the Islamic State in Afghanistan. Telangana police and Maharashtra’s Anti-Terror Squad caught the men at Nagpur’s international airport. The Times of India reported that Abdul Wasim, Umar Hasan Farooqui and Majh Hasan Farooque were going to board a Srinagar-bound flight from Nagpur before going to Afghanistan.
The families of the three had earlier filed missing persons complaints in Telangana, after which the police formed a plan to find them. They have been handed over to Telangana police, who will interrogate them and produce them before a Hyderabad court later on Saturday.
