All the four men who were arrested for killing a constable and injuring an undertrial in a Delhi courtroom shootout on Wednesday are under 18 years of age, PTI reported. The four were allegedly hired to kill the undertrial, Irfan, who was brought to the Karkardooma court on Wednesday morning. Of the four accused, two have no criminal record, while one was involved in a murder in Delhi and another was an accused in a case of robbery.
The police are now trying to track down their accomplice, who planned the attack on behalf of Delhi-based gangster Naseer, who is also serving time in jail for murder. Irfan allegedly killed one of Naseer’s close aides. The police said they are likely to charge Naseer in the case as well.
PTI also reported that the Delhi Police had communicated to the court a possible threat to Irfan’s life and requested for the hearings to be done via video conferencing. The proposal was pending till the incident took place, a senior official said.
