An Air India aircraft was left badly damaged after a Jet Airways bus crashed into it at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport early on Tuesday morning. There were no passengers aboard the parked airplane when the incident occurred at around 6.30 am, NDTV reported.
According to reports, the Jet Airways bus went out of control and hit the aircraft, which was scheduled to fly to Silchar, Assam. The driver of the bus is being questioned.
Air India officials said the plane suffered major damage and has been grounded. The airline has cancelled two flights to the North East, reported PTI. Officials also said there was not much fog in the morning and air traffic was unaffected.
