After hours of perfect smiling and sashaying, the Miss Universe 2015 pageant ended in a blooper, when first runner-up Miss Colombia was accidentally crowned the winner instead of Miss Philippines. As soon as Ariadna Gutierrez of Columbia was named Miss Universe, news agencies eager to be first on the scene put the wrong results up. Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was crowned a few minutes later.

Host Steve Harvey apologised for the gaffe, saying it was he who had made the mistake during the live telecast. Miss USA Olivia Jordan was pronounced the second runner-up at the event, which was held in Las Vegas.
