Chennaiyin FC's captain Elano Blumer was arrested by the Goa police on Sunday for insulting, abusing and assaulting the Goa team owner Dattaraj Salgaonkar in the Goa dugout after the Chennai won the Indian Super League final against Goa.
According to The Hindu, Elano has been booked under Section 341 of the Indian Penal Code under charges of wrongful restraint. It is unclear what the squabble was about.
The final was a tightly fought affair in which Chennai eventually emerged victorious 3-2 after two late goals in the dying moments. After the match, FC Goa boycotted the closing ceremony, in protest against Elano's actions.
