An Italian Catholic newspaper has reported that Mother Teresa will be made a saint of the Roman Catholic church in September 2016. The move comes after a panel convened this week attributed a second miracle to her. Mother Teresa was beatified in 2003, the first step towards sainthood. In 2002, the Vatican recognised a miracle performed by her. The second one, recognised now, was helping heal multiple brain tumours in a Brazilian man.
Mother Teresa died in 1997 in Kolkata. She was born to Albanian parents and is celebrated for her work with the poor in different parts of the world. She lived much of her life in India as an Indian citizen. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work.
