A Right To Information query has revealed that Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra continues to be exempt from security checks at airports. Indiaspend.com reported on Thursday that while the new "no-frisk list" does not have Vadra’s name on it, an additional note allows him to bypass airport security if he chooses to do so.
The report said that when travelling with wife Priyanka Gandhi, Vadra does not have to be frisked since she has Special Protection Group cover, which allows her and an "accompanying spouse" to skip airport security.
The RTI response received by data journalism site factly.in said that 32 groups of people are exempt from such security checks. Media reports in September said that Vadra had been removed from the VVIP list.
