The Congress on Friday said the National Herald case was the not the reason it has been continuously disrupting Parliament. Changing tracks from its earlier stand, the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said “We are protesting in Parliament over inaction against three BJP CMs who face corruption allegations, not on National Herald case,” the Times of India reported. Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram also said that the party was not protesting against the summons issued to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.

According to the report, senior party leaders were attempting to draw the focus away from what has been termed the personal agenda of the Gandhis, and instead renew their demand for action against External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in connection with the Lalit Modi and the Indian Premier League. They also demanded that action be taken in the Vyapam case and against Union minister VK Singh who recently liked the death of two Dalit children to the stoning of a dog.
