A 30-year-old employee of petroleum major Indian Oil Corporation was arrested in Jaipur on Thursday for urging local youth to join ISIS, the Times of India reported. Mohammed Sirazudin, who is originally from Karnataka, was picked up by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad. Sirazudin allegedly used social media to raise a call for people to join the militant group and was being tracked by the police for the last three months. He was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Sirazudin used Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram, a messaging platform ISIS favours, to spread his propaganda, police said. He was involved in supplying information on the group’s activities and recruiting members from India. The police also seized a number of issues of Dabik, the terror group’s magazine, in addition to incriminating pictures and videos from his house. He was using his Facebook page to track down youth who were “angry with the system, the police said.
