Chasing 171, Odisha were on Tuesday bowled out for 37 in a Group A Ranji Trophy encounter against Bengal in Kalyani, with seamer Ashok Dinda picking up 7/19. Bengal won the match by 133 runs. In all, 20 wickets fell in one-and-a-half days, with the highest score of the match being Bengal's 142 in their first innings. Odisha scored 107 in their first innings, before Bengal responded with 135 in the second.
Only ten batsmen from both sides managed to get into double figures in two dramatic days of cricket. Odisha were not very happy with the pitch, with captain Natraj Behera terming it "unplayable". An official complaint has also been lodged with the match referee.
Nearby Ranchi saw another two-day encounter, where Jharkhand crushed Himachal Pradesh by an innings and 71 runs in a Group C encounter. However, the batting was not as lopsided, as Jharkhand scored 337 in their first innings. Himachal replied with 133 and were asked to follow on, but could only manage the same score the second time around.

- Tamil Nadu v Gujarat – no play on first two days due to rain at Tirunelveli.
- Madhyra Pradesh 240 and 201 lead Mumbai 162 by 279 runs at Indore. MP's cause was helped by the form of their two opening bowlers Jalaj Saxena and Ankit Sharma, who took five wickets each bowling unchanged to bundle Mumbai out.
- Uttar Pradesh 205/8 trail Punjab 272 by 67 runs at Kanpur. Punjab managed to recover from a precarious 80/5 thanks to a partnership from Mayank Sidhana (85) and wicket-keeper Gitansh Khera (74).
- Railways 182 and 194/8 lead Andhra 114 by 262 runs. Railways leggie Karn Sharma starred for his team, picking up 5/30 in Andhra's rout.
Group C
- Saurashtra 157 and 16/1 need 115 to beat Kerala 166 in Malappuram. Saurashtra might have had to forego Ravindra Jadeja's services to the national team, but another Jadeja in the form of Dharmendrasinh Jadeja stepped up to take 11 wickets in two innings to put his team firmly on the doorstep of victory.
- Triputa 4/1 trail Hyderabad 548/5 declared by 544 runs at Hyderabad. Hyderabad's mammoth score was built around a double century from their number three, Hanuma Vihari.
- Jammu and Kashmir 43/2 trail Goa 552/5 declared by 509 runs at Jammu. Three centuries from Goa's top three, include a double from opener Swapnil Asnodkar, contributed to Goa's run glut.
