Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist and 26/11 Mumbai attacks convict David Headley will testify before a Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act Court in Mumbai on December 10 via video conferencing. The Pakistani-American’s lawyer on Thursday said that Headley would comply with the terms of his plea agreement, which direct that he will testify in foreign judicial proceedings when directed. It is up to the US Department of Justice to issue such a direction to Headley to testify before the Mumbai court, reported PTI.
The TADA court on Wednesday had made Headley an accused in the case and directed that he testify before it via video-conferencing. Headley is serving 35 years in a United States prison for his planning and execution of the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008, which killed 166 people. He reportedly visited India five times between 2006 and 2008, and drew maps, took video footage and scouted several targets for the attacks including the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel and Nariman House in Mumbai.
