The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday arrested media tycoon Peter Mukerjea in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case. Mukerjea is the husband of Bora's mother Indrani Mukerjea, who is also an accused in the case. The CBI also submitted a 1000-page chargesheet for the case to a Mumbai court, which names Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai as the accused. The three are in judicial custody till November 20.
The chargesheet was filed almost three months after the police claimed to have found the remains of Bora's body in a forest in Maharashtra's Raigad district. A forensic report by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences confirmed that it was Bora's body. According to the police, the 24-year-old was taken to the forest on the outskirts of Mumbai in April 2012, where she was strangled and dumped.
