The Coimbatore Police have arrested three passengers of an IndiGo Airline flight on Wednesday evening for allegedly misbehaving with an air hostess. A Hindu Mahasabha leader and two lawyers were allegedly in an inebriated state, and have been booked on charges of harassing the crew and passengers of the Coimbatore-Chennai flight. The three have been named as Subhash Swaminathan, who is the vice-president of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha's Tamil Nadu unit, Senthel Kumar and Raja. They were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by a court, according to the police.
According to PTI, the trouble started before the flight took off from Coimbatore on Wednesday evening when one of the accused allegedly took a photograph of an air hostess from his mobile phone. The cabin crew and other passengers protested against the act, before the pilot stepped in and asked the three to behave themselves. After an argument, the passengers threatened to leave the aircraft if the three men were not deboarded. The matter was then reported to the airport authorities, who informed the police. The flight was delayed for more than an hour due to the incident. The airline is yet to comment on the matter.
