Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal on Tuesday announced he was ending his presidential campaign. The 44-year-old conservative Republican was seen as a strong contender for the White House. Jindal, the first American-Indian to run for United States President, told media that it was not his time. Reports say that Jindal was unable to raise funds to last longer in the campaign, and his poll numbers were poor. The youngest candidate in the Republican race, he has also reached his limit of two terms as governor. Jindal is the second American-Indian to be elected to the House of Representatives, after Dilip Singh Saund. His family migrated to the US from Punjab about four decades ago.
