Four children were killed after a wall collapsed because of heavy rain in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday night. The children were playing in an abandoned house when one of its walls collapsed, Hindustan Times reported. After Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh has been hit by heavy rain over the last few days. Three districts – Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa – have been flooded in the state and more than 14,000 people have been moved to relief camps in Nellore and Chittoor.
The torrential rain in Tamil Nadu killed at least 79 people overt the past few days and more than 50,000 people shifted to relief camps. The downpour has now abated. Meteorological department officials said they expect mild rain in the state over then next few days, but the focus has shifted to Andhra Pradesh.
