A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two security guards at Cubbon Park in Bengaluru on Wednesday night. The police said both the security guards have been arrested and booked under Indian Penal Code section 376 (punishment for rape). The woman, hailing from the industrial city of Tumkur, had come to Bengaluru to take membership in a tennis club at Cubbon Park when the incident occurred, according to the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil said, "The incident came to light when an Assistant Sub-Inspector who was on rounds noticed the woman sitting near Siddalingaiah Circle around 2.30 am and questioned her." The incident comes after a 19-year-old was raped in a moving bus in the city last week, and a 23-year-old was gangraped in a moving van in October.
