The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in Bihar on Wednesday removed the name of late Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi from a zoo and dairy technology institute in Patna, PTI reported.

The Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park was renamed as Patna Zoo and the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology as the Bihar State Institute of Dairy Technology.

The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting, the news agency reported.

The state-owned zoo was opened in 1973 and the dairy technology institute was set up by the Bihar government in 1980.
