Two Indian Air Force pilots were killed when a Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Assam’s Karbi Anglong on Thursday.
The aircraft was on a training mission when it crashed about 60 km from Jorhat, from where it had taken off.
The pilots were Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar, the Air Force said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The aircraft had lost contact with the ground controller at 7.42 pm.
The Air Force has a large number of Su-30MKI fighters. The first batch of the aircraft was inducted in 2002.
