Two suspected militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora on Thursday.
The Indian Army’s XV Corps said that it launched a joint operation in the Gurez sector with the Jammu and Kashmir Police based on intelligence provided by the police relating to a possible infiltration attempt.
“Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire,” the Army said.
The security personnel responded with fire, which killed the two militants. The security operation was still on.
