Eleven persons were killed and several injured after a pickup truck collided with a trailer truck in Rajasthan's Dausa district, ANI reported. Children were among those who died.

Nine persons injured in the accident were taken to a hospital in nearby Jaipur and three to the district hospital in Dausa, Collector Devendra Kumar told the news agency.

The accident took place between 3.30 am and 3.45 am near Bapi village, ANI quoted Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Prakash Sharma as saying.

At least 22 devotees from Uttar Pradesh’s Etah were travelling in the truck, the news agency reported.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his condolences for those who had died. The district administration has been directed to ensure prompt and proper treatment for the injured, he added.
