Serie A giants AS Roma have accepted Liverpool’s bid of £66.8 million (Rs 597cr) for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, BBC reported.
The Champions League finalists will now hold discussions with the Brazilian before finalising the deal.
The 25-year-old has spent two years at Roma and started in five games for Brazil at the recently-concluded World Cup.
Alisson is set to replace embattled Loris Karius as Liverpool’s first choice keeper following a horrid experience during the Champions League final, but it was later revealed that he had suffered a concussion.
He came under-fire recently after committing a howler during a pre-season friendly.
The bid from the Reds will surpass the current record for a keeper - £47 million (Rs 420cr) - which Juventus splurged on Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.
