Mumbai 5s won the inaugural Premier Futsal League in thrilling fashion, 3-2 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time. Kochi took the lead in the first quarter with a Moraes tap-in after a great cross from Chaguinha, while Foglia and Salgado both came close to doubling the advantage in the following two quarters.
However, it was Mumbai who scored the next and only goal in normal time as Angellot produced some brilliant juggling before slotting the ball home with seconds to go on the clock.
As the penalty shootout began, players of the might of Ryan Giggs, Salgado and Foglia all missed, as either team failed to clinch the match. Finally, it was down to the two keepers to decide the fate of the game as they both stepped up to take penalties against each other. Irony decided the champions.
