My hope for 2016 is that I can win a medal at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and win some more Super Series tournaments. I want to try and finish the year ranked among the top eight. Indian badminton has been going through a really good phase and my wish for 2016 would be that Saina Nehwal becomes the world number one again and wins an Olympic medal, bettering her bronze from 2012. I hope she keeps improving. There’s also Srikanth Kidambi (India's highest ranked badminton men's singles player). I wish him all the best and hope that he succeeds in whatever he decides to do.
Indian badminton is finally getting great support and the focus is on the Olympics next year. I hope the consistency and government support both continue. The Premier Badminton League is starting soon and that is going to be very exciting as a lot of top players will be playing and we can learn a lot from them.
