Asked to bat first. Australia finished with 172/8 (Perry 75 off 47, Renuka 2/24).
In reply, India finished with 151/7 (Shafali 52 off 41, Brown 2/19).
IND 151/7 (20 overs): Schutt does well to concede just five runs in the last over. The visitors take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series on the back of a solid performance. Perry (75 off 47) and Harris (41 off 18) were brilliant with the bat, while Brown (2/19) and Gardner (2/21) delivery crucial spells with the ball.
Australia win by 21 runs
IND 146/7 (19.1 overs): OUT! Radha sets for a single, is sent back by Deepti, but can’t get back in time as Schutt hits the stumps. She walks back for 4 off 7, the new batter is Anjali.
IND 146/6 (19 overs): Deepti uses her wrists nicely to pick two fours. Carey strays in line and the left-hander doesn’t miss out. She then ends the over with another four thanks to a misfield at cover. India need 27 off the last over. Schutt has the ball in hand.
IND 129/6 (18 overs): Another top over for Australia by Gardner, just three runs from it. Deepti and Radha struggling to find the middle of the bat. India need 44 off 12.
IND 123/6 (16.2 overs): OUT! This time the catch is taken and Harmanpreet has to walk back for 37 off 27. Schutt gets the wicket as Sutherland takes the catch at long-on. The new batter is Radha Yadav. Australia are definitely in the driver’s seat now.
IND 122/5 (16 overs): Harmanpreet survives! She hits the ball hard and it goes to Perry at long-off and the veteran doesn’t hold on to the catch. Carey the unlucky bowler. India now need 51 off 24.
IND 113/5 (14.5 overs): OUT! Huge blow to India as Richa Ghosh departs. Ash Gardner gets her second wicket in the over as the right-hander is caught for 1 off 2 at long-on. India now need 60 off 31, the new batter is Deepti Sharma.
IND 107/4 (14.2 overs): OUT! Devika Vaidya is out for 1 off 5 as Ash Gardner gets her first wicket. The left-hander chipped a full delivery straight back to the bowler. The new batter is Richa Ghosh.
IND 106/3 (13.3 overs): OUT! Shafali is out for sure this time as Carey strikes. The right-hander departs after a stroke-filled 52 off 41. The new batter is Devika Vaidya.
A half-century for Shafali Verma! She’s played some superb strokes tonight to keep India in the chase.
IND 101/2 (13 overs): Shafali survives! She is caught at cover off a full toss but it’s a no ball by Brown. The right-hander is then bowled off the free hit but she slams one down the ground for four eventually.
IND 95/2 (12 overs): Better from India as they pick three fours in that King over – two for Harmanpreet and one for Shafali. India now need 78 off 48.
IND 82/2 (11 overs): Another good over for Australia, just three runs from it. Perry with a strong start to her spell. India now need 91 off 54.
IND 79/2 (10 overs): Harman survives! She steps down to King and swings hard and gets beaten, but Healy can’t gather the ball. That would’ve been a straightforward stumping. India need 94 off 60.
IND 75/2 (9 overs): Another good over for India as Gardner is taken for 12 runs in her first over. Harmanpreet plays a late cut for four before Shafali slams another straight six.
IND 63/2 (8 overs): Three fours for Shafali in that Nicola Carey over. The third one lands just wide of the fielder at long-on. The right-hander moves on to 34 off 20.
IND 51/2 (7 overs): Another six from Shafali’s bat. King tosses one up and the right-hander slams the ball straight over.
IND 41/2 (6 overs): Shafali hits Schutt straight over for the first six of the Indian innings, before getting a life as Gardner drops a tough chance running in from deep square-leg.
IND 33/2 (4.4 overs): OUT! Brown strikes again. Jemimah is struck in front and the umpire raises her finger after a half-hearted appeal by the bowler. Jemimah was unlucky there, it seemed the ball would have sailed over the stumps. She walks back for 16 off 11 as skipper Harmanpreet comes to the crease.
IND 31/1 (4 overs): Classy batting from Jemimah as she hits Sutherland for three fours in the over. First a clever ramp shot over the slip fielder, then a stylish flick through mid-wicket, and finally a punch past extra cover. The right-hander couldn’t get going in the first two games and this will give her a lot of confidence.
IND 15/1 (2.2 overs): OUT! Huge wicket for Australia as Brown gets Mandhana. The left-hander tries to lift the ball on-the-rise but miscues it and is caught by Sutherland. She walks back for 1 off 10 as Jemimah comes to the crease.
IND 15/0 (2 overs): Schutt drops one short and Shafali slaps it over mid-on for four, with the ball landing just short of the boundary rope.
IND 9/0 (1 over): A strange, strange over by right-arm pacer Darcie Brown to start the innings. India end up getting nine runs without even one of those runs coming from the bat. Five wides, including five wides, from Brown.
8.35 pm: We’re ready for the chase. A lot will depend on Smriti Mandhana again. Here we go!
AUS 172/8 (20 overs): Richa misses a stumping opportunity to dismiss Schutt before King hits the last ball for four. But a good end to the innings nonetheless for India.
Australia finish with 172/8
AUS 167/8 (19.1 overs): OUT! Carey attempts a reverse sweep but edges it to Renuka at short-third. Deepti gets her second wicket.
AUS 163/7 (18.1 overs): OUT! And Grace Harris has been dismissed. She goes for another big hit but finds Deepti at long-off. Renuka gets the wicket as Grace walks back for an entertaining 41 off 18. The new batter is Alana King.
AUS 163/6 (18 overs): Shot! Deepti drops it short and Grace pulls it powerfully for four, piercing the gap between the two fielders in the deep. The right-hander moves on to 41 off 17.
AUS 153/6 (17.1 overs): OUT! Deepti strikes as Sutherland is caught by Radha, without a juggle this time, at long-on. The new batter is Nicola Carey.
AUS 144/5 (16.1 overs): OUT! Second wicket for Anjali and it’s the big one of Perry. Quite a bizarre dismissal that. Perry wanted to play a scoop but the ball was pitched wide so she decided to guide it fine on the off side but the ball finally hit the back of her bat and looped to short-third, where Radha took the catch after juggling the ball. Perry walks back for a brilliant 75 off 47 as Annabel Sutherland comes to the crease.
AUS 144/4 (16 overs): Huge over for Australia. Perry sweeps one fine for four before Grace steps out twice to pick two sixes straight over. Gayakwad has figures of 0/34 from 3 overs now.
AUS 127/4 (15 overs): Perry plays another classy late cut for four before Grace hits a six over long-on. The ball seemed to go through Shafali’s hands there, leaving Anjali quite unhappy.
AUS 115/4 (14 overs): Expensive over by Radha as Perry hits her for a four and six. The right-hander’s use of her feet and lofted strokeplay has been excellent tonight.
AUS 101/4 (13 overs): Devika does well to concede just four runs off the first five balls but Grace sweeps the last ball powerfully for four.
AUS 93/4 (12 overs): FIFTY for Ellyse Perry! She gets there off 33 balls. The legend has batted for the first time in this series and been brilliant. She’ll want to convert this into a big one.
AUS 89/4 (11 overs): OUT! Devika Vaidya dismissed Ash Gardner with a dream delivery for a leg-spinner. The right-hander stepped out but the ball dipped and turned beautifully to beat her. A comfortable stumping for Richa Ghosh as Gardner walks back for 7 off 10. The new batter is Grace Harris. Meanwhile, Perry had played the shot of the match so far earlier in the over by stepping out and thumping a straight six.
AUS 79/3 (10 overs): Another fantastic shot from Perry as she drives the ball over mid-off for four. Seven runs come from that Renuka over. Australia are well placed at the halfway stage of their innings.
AUS 69/3 (8.3 overs): OUT! Devika Vaidya gets a massive wicket for India as Beth Mooney is dismissed for the first time this series. The left-hander drives one to Shafali Verma at cover and departs for 30 off 22. The new batter is Ash Gardner.
AUS 68/2 (8 overs): Mooney steps out and drives one past cover for four. Perry then hits the first six of the match with a superb strike over mid-wicket. Another expensive over by Deepti.
AUS 54/2 (7 overs): Another good over for Australia as Mooney hits Gayakwad for two fours. The left-hander has really been a class apart in this series.
AUS 43/2 (6 overs): Gayakwad stops a certain boundary with a superb dive at extra cover, before Perry steps out the next ball and thumps it over mid-off for four. Perry then puts away a full toss through mid-wicket for four. Expensive start from Deepti.
AUS 32/2 (5 overs): Gayakwad joins the attack and starts well but then drops one short and Perry cuts it away for four. Six runs come from the left-arm spinner’s first over.
AUS 26/2 (4 overs): Four singles, a wide and a four in Anjali’s second over. Perry gets her first boundary with a powerful square cut.
AUS 17/2 (3 overs): Eight runs come from Renuka’s second over as Mooney hits one over cover for four.
AUS 5/2 (1.3 overs): OUT! Anjali Sarvani with a beautiful delivery to rattle Tahlia McGrath’s stumps. The ball swung back in and went through the gap between bat and pad. Tahlia walks back for 1 off 4 as the great Ellyse Perry comes to the crease. This is the first time in the series that Australia have lost two wickets in an innings.
AUS 2/1 (0.4 overs): OUT! Renuka gets a huge wicket in the first over. Healy is trapped in front and has to walk back for 1 off 2. The Australia skipper was struck just in line perhaps and the umpire had no hesitation in raising her finger. A wonderful in-swinger by Renuka. The new batter is Tahlia McGrath. Mooney and McGrath posted unbeaten partnerships in the first two T20Is of the series.
7.00 pm: We’re ready for play. Renuka Singh has the new ball, with Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney at the crease. Here we go!
