South Africa improve their NRR from 0.210 to 0.742. They have put themselves in a great position to progress. Avoiding a big defeat against England might just be enough in their final match (if AUS don’t win both their matches). Over to AUS, WI to go for NRR boosting.

SA win by 6 wickets, 86/4 after 13.3 overs: Perhaps they could have pushed a bit harder in the chase but that is still a superb win for Bavuma’s men as they improve their NRR from 0.210 to 0.742. A win set up by their star pacers.

OUT! South Africa 80/4 (12.6 overs): Great catch! Shoriful with a stunning effort from mid-on to dismiss Rassi van der Dussen. But a big over for South Africa, kind of out of nowhere, as Bavuma and van der Dussen take them close to a big win. A boundary each there in Nasum’s over.

South Africa 67/3 after 12 overs: Bavuma at the very least playing a flashy shot every now and then. A lofted drive down the ground in Sarkar’s over goes for four. His SR crossess 100 with that too. RvvD meanwhile is on 15 off 24.

South Africa 60/3 after 11 overs: NNo real urgency from South Africa still. They are missing a chance to boost their NRR and one can only wonder if this will come back to bite them. Tidy from Mahedi.

South Africa 55/3 after 10 overs: Doesn’t help NRR when a full toss is driven straight to cover for a dot ball! But SA at least staying on course for a win. Shoriful finishes with 4-0-15-0.

South Africa 50/3 after 9 overs: Surely one of the two batters have to take risks and go for the shots here? And Bavuma does just that in Nasum’s over, pouncing on a short ball to hit a six.

South Africa 41/3 after 8 overs: Four runs in that over, to go with five dot balls. Bangladesh inviting Bavuma to drive on the up in the hope he will edge one perhaps but he manages to find the gap once. Great spell from Taskin, 2/18 in his 4.

South Africa 37/3 after 7 overs: A good over from Shoriful but Bavuma finishes it with a 3, pushing through over.

SA 33/3 after the powerplay. Pardon the pun, but South Africa making this an uphill Taskin.

Feeling worried for Namibia’s batters facing Pakistan pacers on this track but their left-arm pacers could also prove a handful if they can bowl first.

South Africa 16/1 after 3 overs: It’s not been seen frequently today, so it is good to a batter middle one for four. QdK pulls Taskin behind square handsomely.

South Africa 9/1 after 2 overs: Another over where the pacer is testing the batters. Shoriful almost has QdK caught at point with one off the good length. van der Dussen is the new batter in.

CORRECTION: The last wicket was actually hit wicket, the ball missed the leg stumps. But Nasum had backed up so far in the crease that he hit the stumps with the bat.

Bangladesh 84 all out in 18.2 overs: Nortje returns for his fourth over and strikes twice in two balls! First Mahedi falls for a caught and bowled after a useful 27, next ball Nasum is bowled. 3.2-0-8-3 for Nortje who’s just been sensational day after day in recent times.

Bangladesh 84/8 after 18 overs: Throught all this Mahedi has played a little gem. Hits a six in that Shamsi over, lofting one over extra cover. Shamsi finishes with 2/21.

OUT! Bangladesh 77/8 (17.2 overs) As if the South African bowlers are not proving hard enough to negotiate, Bangladesh gift a wicket by going for a non existent single. Bavuma’s direct hit removes Taskin.

OUT! Bangladesh 64/7 (15.2 overs) Shamsi strikes again! With pressure from pacers, Bangladesh are trying to take on the spinners. And Shamsi is more than capable to cash in. Shamim out, caught at long on.

Bangladesh 62/6 after 16 overs: 4-0-20-3 is what Rabada finishes a memorable day with. A no ball in the final over, but free hit is not costly.

Bangladesh 40/5 after 10 overs: Not been anything positive to report for Bangladesh so far but they have seen out 3 overs each from Rabada and Nortje. That’s got to count for something. Can they get some runs off the spinners plus Pretorius?

OUT! Bangladesh 34/5 after 8.1 overs: It’s a procession. Bangladesh batting not living up to how good their kit is! Pretorius has Afif bowled for a duck... the batter just went for a walkabout first ball.

Mahmudullah finds a bouncer too hot to handle, gloves it to point. A strange review (not sure from who though as the 3rd umpire said not out on field and then Mahumdullah seemed to ask for it!) Either way a wicket.

OUT! Bangladesh 24/3 after 5.3 overs: #ProteaFire from Rabada! Comes close to a hat-trick but a couple of deliveries later gets his 3rd wicket anyway, Rahim edges one to wide slip. A great catch by Hendricks. Bangladesh in all sorts of trouble.

HAT-TRICK BALL: SO CLOSE! Rahim on strike, Rabada bangs one in on length, a leading edge from the Bangladesh batter falls short of point.

Bangladesh 24/2 after 5 overs: Bavuma rightly brings on Nortje to further drive home this early advantage. Just 2 from the over. And must say, the SA ground fielding is back to where we know it can be after the first 3 overs.

OUT! Bangladesh 22/2 after 3.6 overs: FIRE from Kagiso Rabada! A superb yorker first up to Soumya, it looked like it hit pad first. Given not out, but SA review and rightly so. Sarkar out for a first-ball duck and Rabada has two in two! Will start his next over on a hat-trick.

OUT! Bangladesh 22/1 after 3.5 overs: It’s been a scrappy start to the match from both sides but Proteas strike early. Naim, who’s been in decent touch in the tournament, hits one straight to the fielder at midwicket. Rabada with the wicket.

Bangladesh 17/0 after 3 overs: For the second time in three overs, the most basic fielding errors from the usually excellent South Africans. This almighty soft fumble from Markram results in a four in Maharaj’s over.

Bangladesh 9/0 after 2 overs: A glorious punch through cover by Liton Das for four in Rabada’s over. But the pacer in control for the rest of it.

Bangladesh 4/0 after 1 over: Good over from Maharaj starting off, on a pitch that has a significant cover of grass.
