SRH 193/8 after 20 overs: Mumbai Indians win by 42 runs but they don’t go through to the playoffs. Just left themselves too much to do after the poor start to phase 2.

SRH 182/8 after 19 overs: SRH lose another wicket but this game has been over for a while now.

SRH 177/7 after 17.2 overs: WICKET! Bumrah’s slower delivery does the trick. Rashid lobs the ball back to the bowler for a return catch. Rashid Khan c and b Bumrah 9(5)

SRH 166/6 after 16.1 overs: WICKET! Holder caught in the deep off Coulter-Nile. Sunrisers Hyderabad need 70 runs in 23 balls. Holder c Boult b Coulter-Nile 1(2)

SRH 156/5 after 15.1 overs: WICKET! Garg falls after a good 29. Not as quick as SRH would have wanted but the kind of knock that Garg himself needed. Priyam Garg c Hardik Pandya b Bumrah 29(21)

SRH 142/4 after 14 overs: Sunrisers Hyderabad need 94 runs in 36 balls. But they aren’t doing enough at the moment to chase this down successfully.

SRH 127/4 after 12 overs: Pandey playing a good hand here. The pressure is off and the SRH batters can play with freedom.

SRH 111/4 after 11 overs: Steady from SRH but this not what they need. They need to absolutely floor the pedal and keep it that way.

SRH 100/4 after 9.1 overs: WICKET! Samad also finds the fielder in the deeper. Pollard takes the catch. Neesham gets the wicket. Abdul Samad c Pollard b Neesham 2(3)

SRH 97/3 after 8.3 overs: WICKET! Nabi goes for the big hit down the ground, caught by Pollard. Chawla gets the wicket. Nabi c Pollard b Chawla 3(4)

SRH 95/2 after 8 overs: 16 runs from the Krunal over – including 6 off a no-ball. SRH are making sure the innings doesn’t lose momentum.

SRH 70/1 after 6 overs: MI have been knocked out of IPL 2021. SRH end the playoff hopes of MI – MI won’t be able to go past KKR’s NRR now.

SRH 64/1 after 5.2 overs: WICKET! Roy walking back after making a quick 34 but they have almost knocked MI out. Job done in that sense. Roy c Krunal Pandya b Boult 34(21)

SRH 60/0 after 5 overs: SRH have made a very bright start of their own.

SRH 47/0 after 4 overs: Another big over for SRH. 16 runs off the Bumrah over. Roy and Abhishek going at the MI attack.

SRH 31/0 after 3 overs: 16 runs off Chawla, on his MI debut. SRH are almost halfway through to knocking MI out. Big six by Abhishek to end the over.

SRH 15/0 after 2 overs: Two fours for Roy in the Bumrah over and SRH are away.

SRH 5/0 after 1 over: MI took a review against Abhishek but the ball was going down the leg-side. Steady start for SRH.

MI have to get SRH out under 66 if they want to advance to the playoffs!

MI 235/9 after 20 overs: And that is that. MI need to win by 170 runs and they have given it their all. This is their highest-ever total in a T20 match.

MI 230/9 after 19.4 overs: Wicket! Surya is caught in the deep. Holder gets his 4th wicket. Nabi takes his fifth catch. Surya made 82 off 40 balls. Suryakumar Yadav c Nabi b Holder 82(40)

MI 230/8 after 19.1 overs: Wicket! Chawla skied it and is caught easily. Holder gets a wicket. Chawla c Abdul Samad b Holder 0(2)

MI 230/7 after 19 overs: A good learning experience for Malik who has conceded 48 in his four over. He did take the wicket of Kishan but this will help him grow as a bowler.

Surya gets hit on the helmet. Ball came off the bat before hitting him. But he looks all shaken up. 142 kmph delivery from Malik.

MI 217/7 after 18 overs: Surya putting on a show of his own. Classy hitting. Effortless hitting. And he is picking the gaps. He has 70 off 31 balls.

MI 206/7 after 17.2 overs: WICKET! One ball after being dropped, Coulter-Nile finds the fielder in the deep again. Coulter-Nile c Nabi b Holder 3(3)

MI 204/6 after 17 overs: Surya gets to his fifty with a four back over the bowler’s head. 51 off 24 balls. Classy innings. His fastest IPL fifty. Kaul’s four overs go for 56 runs.

MI 184/6 after 15.3 overs: WICKET! Rashid gets another one. Krunal goes for the big show, gets a top edge… caught by Nabi. Krunal Pandya c Nabi b Rashid Khan 9(7)

MI 177/5 after 15 overs: The runs keep coming. They don’t have the manic edge now but runs are runs nonetheless. Surya letting loose now.

MI 167/5 after 14 overs: 16 runs off the Kaul over, who has now conceded 43 off 3 overs. Surya going for it.

MI 151/5 after 13 overs: WICKET! Abhishek Sharma strikes again. Neesham gone first ball. Neesham c Nabi b Abhishek Sharma 0(1)

MI 151/4 after 12.5 overs: WICKET! Pollard doesn’t last too long. Roy, almost right behind the bowler’s arm juggles it before finally holding on. Abhishek Sharma gets the wicket. Pollard c Roy b Abhishek Sharma 13(12)

MI 146/3 after 12 overs: MI have slowed down. Kishan took full advantage of the Powerplay and make SRH pay. Now, it isn’t as easy.

MI 139/3 after 11 overs: Review to the rescue! Pollard seemed to have been trapped LBW by Kaul. The review did the trick. Showed it was bouncing over. Pollard had almost walked all the way back.

MI 124/3 after 9.1 overs: WICKET! Malik gets Kishan. Edged through to the keeper. Kishan made 84 off 32 balls. What a knock! Just kept going at it. 11 fours and 4 sixes in the knock. Ishan Kishan c W Saha b Umran Malik 84(32)

MI 113/2 after 8.3 overs: WICKET! Hardik caught in the deep. Didn’t get the distance he wanted. Holder strikes. SRH will welcome the wicket but they one they truly want is Kishan (83 off 30 balls). Hardik Pandya c Roy b Holder 10(8)

MI 112/1 after 8 overs: Two sixes in the Rashid over – one for Ishant, to start the over and then one for Hardik towards the end. MI just keep going for it... as they must.

MI 96/1 after 7 overs: 13 runs from the Malik over. He isn’t doing much wrong but Kishan is going after everything. Someone needs to tell him to run in, bowl 145+, keep it short and put two fielders in the deep.

Hardik has come up the order.

MI 83/1 after 6 overs: Just 5 runs from the Rashid over. Let that sink in. The man is pure quality.

MI 80/1 after 5.3 overs: WICKET! Rashid into the attack and he gets the breakthrough. Rohit Sharma (18 off 13) well caught by Nabi. Extra bounce, got the leading edge. Rohit c Nabi b Rashid Khan 18(13)

MI 78/0 after 5 overs: Kishan going absolutely nuts here, he now has 60 off 19 balls. He took Umran Malik apart. Once again, shots all around the park.

MI 63/0 after 4 overs: Just four overs into the innings and MI have already reached 63. Kishan has his 50 in just 16 balls. Madness. But very poor bowling by SRH. They just aren’t bowling to their field.

MI 41/0 after 3 overs: Kishan has started off with a flurry of boundaries, he now has 34 off 12 balls. MI are off and running!

MI 26/0 after 2 overs: What an over for MI and Kishan! 0.4.4.4.4.2. 18 runs off the overs – Kaul smashed to every part of the ground. Here we go. 300?

MI 8/0 after 1 over: Nabi to start things off and Kishan helped himself to a six but just 8 runs from the over.

Squads: Two changes for MI. Changes for SRH too – no Williamson in the line-up. Nabi gets a game instead.

Mumbai Indians playing XI: Rohit Sharma(c), Ishan Kishan(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, James Neesham, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla, Trent Boult

TOSS: MI won the toss and they elected to bat first.

7.06 pm: Manish Pandey is the captain for SRH. He has walked out for the toss.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of match no 55 of IPL 2021. The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been knocked out of the competition a while back and Mumbai Indians need a miracle of sorts to go past Kolkata Knight Riders’ net run-rate. But still, MI fans will be counting on their team to bowl first and dismiss SRH cheaply and then... who knows!
