Nayanthara is an ordinary woman-turned-drug trafficker in debutant director Nelson Dilipkumar’s Kolamaavu Kokila. The Tamil movie’s trailer shows Kokila (Nayanthara) getting involved in the drug trade to support her family, and of course, things go wrong. Produced by Lyca Productions, Kolamaavu Kokila is yet to have a release date.
“My father’s a watchman at an ATM, mother’s a patient, sister is in college,” a hapless Kokila says. Soon, she is in a van transporting cocaine along with her family, which includes Saranya Ponvannan as Kokila’s mother. Yogi Babu joins the madness as a man in love with Kokila.
Kolamavu Kokila is the latest film to star Nayanthara as the solo lead following critical and commercial successes such as Maya (2015), Dora (2017) and Aramm (2017). Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. Three songs have already been released, including the hit Kalyaana Vayasu, whose video looks at Yogi Babu’s character basking in love for Kokila.
