The body of a police constable, who was abducted by suspected militants, was found in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning. Javid Ahmad Dar went missing from Kachdoora village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district around 9.30 pm on Thursday.
Director General of Police SP Vaid said Dar’s body bore bullet injuries, reported NDTV. He was the personal security officer for former Superintendent of Police Shalinder Mishra, according to the Hindustan Times.
While some reports said the constable was abducted by three men from near a pharmacy in Shopian, others claim that he was kidnapped from outside his house. The security forces launched an operation in the area to locate Dar.
The incident comes a day after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the security situation in the state with Governor NN Vohra. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and top civil and police officials also attended the meeting in Srinagar.
On June 14, an Army jawan was abducted and killed in Kashmir’s Pulwama. Aurangzeb was a soldier with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles.

The police said Thokar suffered several bullet injuries and is being treated at the SMHS Hospital in Srinagar.
