A bit of public display of affection by two penguins has the entire internet rooting for them as a couple. (They even seem to have a minor disagreement at one point.)
In a video originally posted on twitter, the two penguins were seen holding hands – or flippers – and taking a stroll along a beach. The caption stated that the video was captured by the twitter user’s aunt in South Africa, although the exact location is not specified.
According to BBC Nature, these African penguins live in colonies between Namibia and South Africa, feeding on small fish.
It is, in fact, not uncommon to find penguins holding flippers. Here is an older video of another penguin couple strolling along a beach.
