A man was arrested in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl, IANS reported. On Sunday, the 28-year-old man allegedly dumped the girl in a secluded place after raping her, as he thought she had died.
The girl was admitted to a hospital in critical condition and will now be airlifted to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences, ANI reported.
The man had allegedly abducted the child when she was sleeping in the courtyard of her house. Her parents and other villagers found her later in Parasmania area of the district, the police said. The villagers traced the accused and beat him before handing him over to the police.
An investigation is going on, Satna Superintendent of Police Rajesh Hingankar said.
The incident came just a week after the rape of an eight-year-old girl in Mandsaur district of the state. The police have arrested two accused in the case. The girl’s father has demanded capital punishment for them.
