Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Monday denied writing a social media post hinting at discord within his family, and claimed his Facebook account was hacked.
“There is no difference within the family, we stand united,” he told ANI. “We will defeat BJP-RSS [Bharatiya Janata Party-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] in 2019 elections. My Facebook account has been hacked. BJP-RSS is doing this.”
In the Facebook post on Sunday, Yadav had purportedly said he was considering quitting politics as his parents, jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, had not paid attention to problems he was facing in the party.
The post was deleted within half-an-hour.
The post claimed some RJD leaders were trying to harm his reputation by saying he was mentally disturbed. He purportedly said party workers in his constituency, Mahua, had told him this. When he spoke about the problem with his parents, his mother scolded him instead of acting against those leaders, the post read.
“...I informed all this to my parents on many occasions, but my mother does not listen to me and scolds me due to which I feel under pressure,” the post had said, according to The Times of India. “Is it possible to do politics under pressure? I can crush these insects with my feet, however, my family stops me. If this continues to go on, then I will stop doing politics. They can continue to tarnish my image and can win elections.”
