The police in Andhra Pradesh’s Agiripalli town in Krishna district on Saturday arrested three engineering students who allegedly raped and filmed a junior student in 2017. Two of the accused, Siva Reddy and Krishna Vamsi, allegedly spiked the complainant’s drink during a birthday party at a hotel, then raped her and shot a video, The News Minute reported.
In April, the third accused, identified as Praveen, began to blackmail the complainant. He asked her for sexual favours, failing which he threatened to make the video public. The complainant and her parents then approached the police, who filed a case.
Circle Inspector YVL Naidu said the trio were produced before a magistrate in Nuzveedu and sent to judicial custody.
The complainant told the police that she had informed the college management about the incident, but they asked her to delete the video instead. “We are taking legal opinion regarding inaction of the college, soon we will arrest those responsible from the college,” an unidentified police officer told The News Minute.
