Penguin Random House India on Thursday announced that it has acquired Hind Pocket Books, one of the oldest Hindi language publishers in the country.
The Indian arm of multinational publishing company Penguin Random House said Vaishali Mathur will become the editor-in-chief of Hind Pocket Books. She was earlier responsible for Indian language publishing at Penguin Random House India.
Nandan Jha, senior vice president at Penguin Random House India, who heads the sales and product division, will also assume responsibility for building the Indian language publishing programme, the publisher said in a press release on Thursday.
Amrita Pritam, Acharya Chatursen, Gulshan Nanda, Narendra Kohli, Khushwant Singh, RK Narayan, Dominique Lapierre and Osho are some authors that Hind Pocket Books has published.
