The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) released the results of the first round of seat allotment on June 27th at around 5 pm. Candidates who have registered to participate in the JoSAA 2018 counselling and seat allocation process can check the official website, josaa.nic.in, to see if their name features in the first allotment list for JEE (Advanced).

The registration process for the JoSAA 2018 counselling began on June 15th. The JoSAA is responsible for the JEE (Advanced) counselling process, which is scheduled to take place in seven rounds.

Candidates whose name features in the first allotment list can download their “Provisional Seat Allotment letter” and e-challan. The e-challan is needed in order to pay the seat acceptance fee, which is Rs.45,000 (Rs.20,000 for reserved categories). The fee can be paid through SBI Bank’s Net Banking facility. Candidates must take a printout of their fee payment receipt after making the payment.

  2. Enter your JEE (Main) roll number and password, and click on ‘Login’.
  3. Candidates can check whether their name features in the list and take the necessary next steps.

The process of document verification for the first round of allotment and counselling will be held between June 28th and July 2nd. The next round of allotment will be released on July 6th on the JoSAA website. The process of JEE (Advanced) counselling is scheduled to continue until July 23rd, in a total of seven rounds of allotment.

The JoSAA 2018 registration process is mandatory for all qualified candidates interested in joining any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs (within the purview of the JoSAA). This year the counselling process is being held for around 36,000 seats.
