Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and former Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav is set to make his Hindi film debut with Rudra: The Avtar. The 29-year-old politician shared the poster of his upcoming film on Twitter on Wednesday. Little else is known about the film, including the director or the release date.
While he was Health Minister, Yadav appeared in the Bhojpuri film Apaharan Udyog (2016), where he played the Bihar chief minister.
In a tweet earlier this month, Yadav hinted that he planned to give up politics. Quoting from the Mahabharata, he said that he wished to hand over the throne of Hastinapur to Arjun and leave for Dwarka. He also added that some people do not want him to emerge as a “king maker” in Bihar politics.
Tej Pratap’s younger brother Tejashwi Yadav is the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and was Deputy Chief Minister in the state from November 2015 to July 2017. He is considered the political heir to Lalu Yadav, the former Bihar chief minister.
