The Uttar Pradesh Police has set up a special task force to investigate an explosion at a scrap shop in Muzaffarnagar on Monday, which killed four people, PTI reported. Three passers-by were injured in the explosion.
The police have filed a case against two of those who died in the blast, including the owner of the shop, Senior Superintendent of Police Anant Dev said. The supplier of the scrap has also been booked, he said.
The explosion occurred on Sarvat Road under Civil Line police station area. It took place when some people were breaking scrap in the shop, said Circle Officer Harish Bhadoria.
A 50-year-old man, Tazim, and 55-year-old Shazad, who were working at the shop, were among the four people who were killed in the blast.
